Girls Basketball: Dexter drops Skyline; two big games on tap this week

The Dexter girls’ basketball team scored 28 points in the first quarter and cruised to an easy 65-22 win over Skyline in an SEC Red Division contest on Friday at Dexter. The Dreadnaughts have won 10 straight games – all against league opponents – with two big games coming up this week.

Dexter hits the road for games against Saline on Tuesday and Chelsea on Friday to end the regular season. The Dreadnaughts host District 17 and will open postseason play at 5:30 p.m. on March 2 against South Lyon.

Sydney Pnacek and Maddie Valentine each scored 17 to lead the way over Skyline as ever Dexter player scored at least one point. Valentine made 6 of 9 shots (including five triples) and also had six rebounds and six assists. Pnacek had six rebounds and three assists.

Brianna Rodriguez had 10 points and six assists, Alena Blumberg had seven points and five rebounds and Chloe Perry had four points, six rebounds and two steals for Dexter.
