Swimming: Dreadnaughts improve to 4-0 with victory over Monroe

The Dexter boys’ swimming and diving team improved to 4-0 on the season with an easy 152-25 dunking of visiting Monroe Tuesday night in an SEC crossover dual-meet.

The Dreadnaughts jump back into the pool on Saturday at the Spartan Invitational.

Dexter opened the meet against the Trojans with a double dip in the medley relay. The team of Eric Smaby, Tristan Lorincz, Dylan O’Connor and Lucas Greatorex took first in 1:52.91. The team of Jack Haidl, Otto Krueger, Travis Fitch, Grady Wheeler touched second in 2:05.14.

Adam Hauser won the 200 free in 1:49.96 with Stuart Bovich second (2:04.49) and Ben Curtis third (2:10.05).

Greatorex won the IM in 2:20.52 with Wheeler second (2:22.97) and Owen Ragnes third (2:30.01).

Cole Warren dove to first place in diving with 270.30 points with Shane Walton second with 113.5 points.

The Dreads took the top three spots in the 100 butterfly with Smaby first (1:08.13), Curtis second (1:10.46) and Fitch third (1:15.39).

The Dreads also took the top three spots in the 100 free with O’Connor first (54.54), Bovich second (54.87) and Haidl third (55.42).

Krueger won the 500 free in 5:24.03 with Wheeler second (5:28.89) and Greatorex third (5:48.71).

The 200 free relay team of Hauser, Smaby, Bovich and Jack Potsos won in 1:38.26. The foursome of Curtis, Ragnes, Bryce Hutchinson and Wheeler took second in 1:46.36.

O’Connor won the backstroke in 1:01.48, followed by Fitch (1:08.04) and Liam MacNeil (1:10.21).

Dexter again took the top three spots with Hauser winning the breaststroke in 1:08.57 with Krueger second (1:16.70) and Lorincz third (1:18.04).
The Dreadnaughts wrapped up the meet with a win in the 400 free relay. The team of Haidl, Greatorex, Hauser and Bovich took first in 3:40.33. The team of Fitch, O’Connor, Kreuger and Lorincz was second in 3:54.31. The team of Curtis, Ragnes, MacNeil and Hutchinson was third in 4:09.45.
