Baseball: Dexter opens District play Tuesday (June 1) against Pinckney

The Dexter baseball team is hosting a Division 1 District tournament this week and the Dreadnaughts will have to earn their way to Saturday’s semifinal round. Dexter will play Pinckney at 4:30 on Tuesday in the only quarterfinal game.

The Dreadnaughts have had a strong season and head into the postseason with a 23-8-2 record. Dexter and Pinckney know each other well. The two teams have played three times since May 24 with the Dreadnaughts winning all three by scores of 6-1, 5-1 and 7-4.

Dexter also won the SEC White Division title.

The winner of the Dexter- Pinckney game will play Hartland at 10 a.m. on Saturday in a District semifinal game. Dexter and Hartland played a doubleheader way back on April 5 with Hartland winning the first game 13-1 and the two teams playing to a 4-4 tie in the nightcap.

Brighton will play Howell in the other semifinal game at 12:30 p.m.

The finals are at 2:30 p.m. All games are at Dexter.
