The Dexter girls’ basketball team is trying to take its game to the next level as the season winds down this week. The regular season comes to an end on Friday with the rematch against Chelsea – the Bulldogs won the first meeting. And then it’s off to Districts.

The Dreadnaughts knocked off Tecumseh on Friday 37-24 in an SEC White contest and have SEC two games (Tuesday at home vs. Adrian and Thursday at home vs. Jackson) before travelling to Chelsea on Friday.

Dexter used a 12-4 third-quarter run to pull away from Tecumseh and held on for the victory. The Dreadnaughts started strong with a 15-6 advantage in the first quarter. But the Indians outscored the Dreads 10-3 in the second quarter to pull to within 18-16 at halftime.

Dexter outscored Tecumseh 7-4 in the fourth quarter.

Alayna Babut had a huge game for the Dreadnaughts. The senior scored in every quarter, including seven in the first quarter, and finished with a team-high 14 points.
