Girls Basketball: Dreadnaughts cruise past Tecumseh in SEC matchup

The Dexter girls’ basketball team slowly cranked up the offense on Thursday night and it was more than enough for a comfortable 58-27 victory over visiting Tecumseh in an SEC White Division contest.

The Dreadnaughts didn’t exactly come bursting out of the blocks but they did manage an 11-6 lead after the first quarter. The offense began to pick up with a 15-5 run in the second quarter for a cozy 26-11 halftime lead.

Dexter had seven different players score in the third quarter as they exploded for 19 points to blow the game wide open.

Sydney Pnacek continues her impressive season with a game-high 12 points. She had two triples in the second quarter. Shannon Schoch scored in every quarter and finished with 11 points. And Alayna Babut hit a triple and finished with 10 points for Dexter.

Kayla Rivers knocked down three triples in the game and finished with nine points. Chloe Perry hit a triple and scored seven and Kylee Niswonger scored her six points in the third quarter.

The Dreadnaughts host Bedford on Saturday.
