Draw Your Pets
Join illustrator Corinne Roberts to learn how to draw your pets, imaginary or otherwise. Use basic shapes and line techniques to create your favorite furry friends. No prior drawing experience necessary. Geared for grades 4 through 12 but parents are welcome to attend. Registration is required. Zoom details will be emailed prior to the program.

Bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 4:30 pm, March 3 to May 12
Club Create
Kids in grades K through 2 are invited to join us on our DDL Facebook page, every other Wednesday at 4:30 pm beginning March 3. Ms. Krista will share fun challenges, activities and craft ideas that you can try at home. She will also highlight a few new chapter books and readers. Everyone is welcome. Dates: March 3, March 17, April 14, April 28, May 12.

Leprechaun Trap Read Aloud
Join Ms. Krista on our DDL Facebook page as she reads books about leprechaun traps that will inspire you to create your own. Fun stories for kids of all ages.

Leprechaun Trap Starter Kit
Leprechaun Trap Starter Kits are for kids of all ages. They will be available from March 9 to March 16. Call from the Library parking lot and we’ll deliver them to our outside table or you can pick them up inside. Registration is required on our website beginning Monday, February 22.

Preschool Super Stories
Kids ages five and younger are invited to join Ms. Krista on our DDL Facebook page every other Thursday at 11:00 am. Ms. Krista will read a longer picture book and share an activity related to the book. Everyone is welcome. Dates: March 11, March 25, April 8, April 22, May 6, May 20

All Star Readers
All Star Readers Book Club for grades 3 and 4 will meet again on Thursday, March 18 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Registration is required and begins on Thursday, February 18. The book we will be discussing is Donut the Destroyer by Sarah Graley. Books will be available for pick up when you register. Join us for a fun, lively afternoon with Ms. Krista leading our discussion. A link to our Zoom meeting room and a password will be sent to you prior to March 18.

Virtual Spring Story Times
Spring Story Times for ages five and under will be offered on Tuesdays at 10:30 am on our DDL Facebook page from March 23 to May 18. Everyone is welcome to join Ms. Krista for a fun morning of picture, pop-up and interactive books, flannel-board stories, songs, puppets, finger plays and other activities that encourage a love of reading to your child. Registration is not required.

Turtle Dance Music presents Music, Bubble And Comedy Show: Swing Into Spring!
Turtle Dance Music engages children of all ages with comedy, “March”-ing songs, poems, bubbles, and children’s stories. Join us on Zoom as we Swing Into Spring. Registration is required on our website. A Zoom link will be sent to you prior to March 24.

Friday, March 26 to Saturday, April 3
Boredom Buster: Catapults for Teens & Tweens
Make three types of catapults and test them against each other to see which one can launch different objects the farthest. Supplies (except glue/glue gun) will be provided along with instructions on how to make your catapults, links to videos, and a list of books to check out to make more cool stuff. Teens and tweens in grades 5 through 8 may register on our website beginning February 22. Full details will be emailed to registered participants.

Spring Break Activity Bags
Kids of all ages are invited to pick up a bag full of fun crafts and activities to keep them busy during Spring Break. Bags will be available while supplies last, registration is not required. Limit five bags per family.

Let’s Draw Pokemon
Artist Keith McGuire will instruct you how to draw Pokemon characters step-by-step. Bring your favorite Pokemon card and watch as Keith does quick sketches at the end of the program. Time will be available to ask questions and to share your work. Teens and tweens in grades 4 through 12 may register on our website beginning March 1. A Zoom link will be sent to you prior to March 30.

Saturday, April 3 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm
Yoga for Teens & Adults
Set aside to-do lists, drama and all other sources of anxiety and connect with yourself on a deeper level to find peace and calm during this hour-long class with Sue Marsh, owner of Breath Yoga. Explore different elements of a yoga practice – movement, breathing, mindfulness meditation and relaxation – on a level fully accessible to all.  Participants will leave feeling rested, refreshed, and able to face the day with renewed energy. No prior yoga experience needed. Registration is required on our website beginning Monday, March 8. Participants will be emailed a Zoom link prior to April 3.

Wildlife Encounters: Wonders of the Rainforest
Meet animal ambassadors native to rainforest regions including a ring tailed lemur, crocodilian, boa constrictor, macaw, armadillo and a honey bear. Everyone is invited to join us for this live, virtual, interactive event. Presenters will be able to respond to your questions and comments. Registration is required. A link to our Zoom meeting room will be sent to you prior to April 21.

Star Wars Day Celebration
Prepare to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4 with your own bag of crafts, stickers and more. Email a picture of one of your completed crafts to the teen librarian dalson@dexter.lib.mi.us by May 8 for a chance to win a Pop! Star Wars BB-8 Bobble. Winner will be chosen at random from all entries. Registration is required. Teens and tweens in grades 5 through 12 may register on our website beginning April 1. Full details will be provided to registered participants

DIY Tea Cup Painting
Pick up your own ceramic tea cup and saucer to paint to hold an indoor plant. This could make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift, or keep it for yourself to hold your trinkets. Mother’s Day card-making supplies will also be included. Registration is required. Teens in grades 5 through 12 may register on our website beginning April 5. Full details will be provided to registered participants.

Alex Thomas – Virtual Caricature Drawing Workshop
Learn to draw fun caricatures of some of your favorite characters led by a puppet instructor! Whether you are just beginning or more advanced, this workshop will teach you the tips, tricks, and techniques of caricature drawing! Registration is required.
