Swimming: Dreadnaughts improve to 6-0 overall, 3-0 in SEC

Another meet, another win for the Dexter boys’ swimming and diving team. The Dreadnaughts rang up Tecumseh 131-25 on Thursday night to improve to 6-0 on the season. They have dominated the SEC White so far this season with a 3-0 record.

The team of Matthew Resende, Adam Hauser, Clayton Kinnard and Leo Varitek took first in the medley relay with a time of 1 minute, 45.32 seconds. The team of Lucas Greatorex, Stuart Bovich, Jack Potsos and Joe Sharon was second in 1:59.98.

The Dreads went one-two in the 200 free with Tristan Lorincz first (2:08.53) and Otto Krueger second (2:10.00).

Bovich won the IM in 2:16.39 with Greatorex second (2:23.90).

The Dreadnaughts swept the 50 free with Kinnard first (22.20 seconds), Varitek second (23.06) and Zach Norris third (25.94).

Cole Warren won diving with 279.40 points.

Dexter took the top three spots again in the butterfly with Dylan O’Connor first in 1:00.94, Lorincz second in 1:10.89 and Krueger third in 1:10.90.

Varitek won the 100 free in 50.08 seconds with Hauser second (51.74) and Travis Fitch third (1:01.82).

Resende won the 500 freestyle in 5:32.55 and Potsos was second in 5:55.89 for the Dreadnaughts.

The Dexter foursome of Greatorex, Lorincz, Bovich and Resende won the 200 free relay in 1:38.19. The Dexter team of Grady Wheeler, O’Connor, Sharon and Potsos was second in 1:43.02.

Kinnard won the backstroke in 53.57 with Hauser second in 1:00.58.

Wheeler took first place in the breaststroke with a time of 1:17.03 and Adam Bergen was second in 1:19.00.

The Dexter group of Varitek, Resende, O’Connor and Hauser won the 400 free relay in 3:38.10. The team of Bovich, Lorincz, Greatorex and Kinnard took second in 3:44.20.

Dexter will swim against Chelsea and Milan in a tri-meet at Milan on Saturday, Feb. 20.
