Around Town: Luminary Supply Deliveries, Twisted Fish Sculpture Returned, more

Luminary Supply Deliveries

The Dexter Luminary coordinators are looking for volunteers! In order to continue through COVID, we are asking families to sign up to assemble luminary kits and deliver to a street in Dexter.  You may select a street and become the designated block captain. On Saturdays, December 5th and 12th, we will have a drive through pick-up of supplies for block captains at the Department of Public Works (3600 Central Street).  You drive up, tell us your street(s), we load supplies in your car, you take them home, assemble kits, and deliver to the porch or driveway of all homes on your assigned street(s) by December 20th. This is a project for all ages and can be done on your own schedule.  Street sign up is on first come first served basis at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c094da5ae22a0f58-dexter. Many hands make light work, please join the fun to keep this tradition going!

Contributions to the Luminary can be made via GoFundMe at: https://gf.me/u/y78mfm. For questions, please contact Erin McKillen at reed2em@hotmail.com.

On the afternoon of November 20th the Twisted Fish sculpture that was removed from Mill Creek Park was found intact by City staff. We would like to thank the person(s) responsible for ensuring the safe return of the sculpture. City staff will be working to re-assemble the sculpture next week.
