Hockey: Dreadnaughts keep rolling, knock off Tri-Valley Saginaw 6-5

The Dexter hockey team continues to face strong competition and more than hold their own. On Friday, the Dreadnaughts faced a very good Tri-Valley Saginaw team in a non-league game.

The Dreadnaughts scored an impressive 6-5 victory.

“They were a skilled group and we played well,” said Dexter Coach Justin Young.

One of the highlights of the game came from Dylan Hutchison. The freshman forward scored his first varsity goal and earned the team’s “player of the game” honor. He also picked up an assist.

Senior Brendan Busdeker (one assist) and junior Joey Fracassi each scored two goals for the Dreadnaughts. Senior Kyle Burke had a goal. Senior Nate Kniesteadt and senior Dalton Wright each had two assists. Luc Chesney and Jonathon Rosevelt each had one assist.

Dexter returns to the ice at 7 p.m. on Jan. 29 against St. Mary Catholic Central at Vets.
