Spirit of the Community: E4DS Jolly Pumpkin Friends & Giving Night

On Saturday, Nov. 2, E4DS (Excellence 4 Dexter Students) held its first Friends and Giving fundraising event at Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales + Kitchen in Dexter.  It was a chilly Fall evening, but inside Jolly Pumpkin, the spirit of community, giving, and gratitude warmed all who attended.

E4DS friends and Board members enjoyed beer, wine, and cider tasting from a select menu that included rare sour beers from the reserve Jolly Pumpkin collection, favorites from North Peak Brewing Company, and a Northern Michigan cider.

The appetizers were crafted from Jolly Pumpkin’s unique and flavorful menu, including Pulled Pork and Falafel Sliders, Artisan Pizzas, Roasted Cauliflower, and Edamame Hummus. Lively rounds of games, pool, corn hole and shuffleboard added to the fun of this relaxing night out in support of E4DS.

This event also celebrated the E4DS #DexterGrateful campaign. Extending Dexter Community School’s own focus on gratitude in September, E4DS sought to spotlight the amazing things happening in our school district and the caring professionals who work with our children with the hashtag #DexterGrateful.  E4DS asks residents and businesses to consider making a donation during this month of thanks and giving, to support the staff and programming we love for Dexter’s students.

E4DS is a community-led nonprofit that enhances programs by financially supporting Dexter Community Schools.  With the help of the Dexter community, E4DS has donated $150,000 over the past four years.

Donations can be made online HERE or by check and mailed to PO Box 223, Dexter, MI 48130.
