Dexter A&W Drive-In will remain open year round for first time in 55 years

Get your root beer on – year round!

For the first time in 55 years, the Dexter A&W Drive-In will be open year round, according to Dexter resident and ShopDexter owner Ron Raiford. The A&W used to close in mid-December and not open again until March. They will now only close from Dec. 21 through Jan. 6 for “maintenance, upgrades and holiday vacations.”

According to ShopDexter, out of nearly 650 A&W’s in the nation, the Dexter A&W is among the top 25 for highest grossing locations. Coley O’Brien, who has owned the A & W since 2004, also owns the Fillmore Bar & Grill (Old Terry B’s) in Dexter.

Located at 220 Dexter Chelsea Road, the Dexter A&W Drive-In is an old fashion drive-in serving classic A&W All American Favorites including root beer that’s made fresh daily right at their location with full carhop service whether you’re in your car or enjoying our patio seating.
