Football: Dexter crushes Croswell-Lexington 65-6 to wrap up regular season

The Dexter Dreadnaughts wrapped up its regular season on Friday night with the most points scored in a game this season – beating the 64 they scored earlier in the year against Dearborn Edsel Ford – with a 65-6 thrashing of visiting Croswell-Lexington.

The visiting Pioneers needed a win to reach six to automatically qualify for the postseason but never had a chance in this game. And this one was over in a hurry.

Colin Parachek threw three touchdowns – in the first quarter – as Dexter led 28-0 after the opening quarter.

Parachek threw a 34-yard TD to Rhett Jacobs on Dexter’s opening drive to make it 7-0 with 9:55 left in the first quarter. Just 3 minutes later it was 14-0 after a three-yard TD run by Evan Krolewski – the big play on the drive was a 40-yard pass from Parachek to Antwan Ficklen.

An interception by Alex Adams got the ball back for Dexter and they wasted no time in chasing in the turnover. Parachek threw a 14-yard TD to Jacobs to push the lead to 21-0 with 5:03 left in the first quarter.

Parachek tossed a 34-yard TD pass to Ficklen to make it 28-0 with 2:51 left in the first quarter.

Dexter scored another four touchdowns in the second quarter.

A 31-yard TD run by Krolewski gave the home team a 35-0 lead with 10:37 left until halftime.

Parachek ran one in from 15 yards out and then hit Trevor Bazzy on a nine-yard TD pass. Jordan Watson ran in the two-point conversion to make it 50-0.

Parachek threw a 24-yard TD pass to Jacobs – his third TD catch of the game for those keeping score – and Dexter led 58-0 after Watson’s two-point conversion.

The Dreads led 58-0 at halftime.

The visitors got on the board in the third quarter to make it 58-6.

In the fourth quarter, Dexter’s Vince Malong went 16 yards for the score to make it 65-6.

Brady Keough was perfect all night on extra points.
