B2B Trail Construction Updates from HWPI

From Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative

Dexter-Chelsea Trail, Freer to Lima Center – This new trail segment is now open! On Aug. 27, more than 125 community members attended the grand opening of this trail segment, marking the completion of another 2.1 miles of the B2B.

Trail partners and supporters, cycling groups, children and family pets were in attendance and eager to take their first walk down this serene new trail. It was a beautiful day to celebrate the B2B!

Grove Road Trail, Ypsilanti Township – We are excited to announce the official opening of the Ypsilanti Grove Road segment of the B2B Trail!  This half mile stretch of trail connects to Rawsonville Elementary, giving local children a safe path to walk to school. This trail segment also brings the B2B closer to reaching the border of Washtenaw and Wayne counties, with the long term goal of connecting to the scenic Lower Huron Metropark trail.

The Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8th, to celebrate the occasion. The ceremony will take place on the grounds of Rawsonville Elementary School, adjacent to the trail. Families and neighbors are encouraged to attend! We will have B2B Trail giveaways and updates on future trail construction.
