Dexter United Methodist Church hosts annual SummerFest/RiverFloat July 14

Dexter United Methodist Church hosts the annual SummerFest/RiverFloat starting at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14. And this is much more than just some folks floating down the river on a float – which, of course, is cool enough.

This year’s event will include a baptism in the river, the river float, bounce house, sports and board games. There also will be hot dogs and lemonade provided along with a home-made ice cream contest and an after-hours campfire with smores.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring a friend.

Here is an overview of the schedule:

3:30 Baptism in the river (currently there are five candidates for baptism)

3:45 River Float begins

4:00 SummerFest begins on the grounds: firepit area, volleyball, games for children, board games for all, bounce house, live music.. and more.

5:00 Potluck begins: hots dogs and lemonade provided.

5:30 Dexter firefighters will bring one of their trucks for kids (and others) to learn about fire safety.

6:00 Homemade ice cream contest begins.
