Softball: Dexter hits a home run with postseason honors

The 2019 SEC softball All-Conference team was recently announced and Dexter was well represented. The Dreadnaughts finished in fourth place with a 12-7 record in the competitive SEC White Division.

Dexter placed three players on the SEC First Team: sophomores Livvy Mellifont (2B), Sam Sutton (P) and Kylee Niswonger (SS).

The honorable mention selections included Dexter sophomore Jenna Wagenschutz (C) and senior Alexis Haley (3B).

The SEC Sportsmanship Award went to Dexter’s Emily Lance.

Dexter played in Districts with Howell, Brighton, Skyline and Pinckney. The Dreadnaughts landed three All-District players: Niswonger (outfield), Sutton (DP) and Jenna Wagenschutz (catcher).  Jenna also was All-Region catcher.
