Baseball: Dexter rallies to tie game, but falls to Lincoln, 5-3

The Dexter baseball team enjoyed some lopsided wins before hosting a strong Lincoln team on Friday afternoon. Despite jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead, the Dreadnaughts dropped a 5-3 decision to the Railsplitters in an SEC White Division game.

Lincoln tied the game in the second and took a 2-1 lead in the third. After the Splitters extended the lead to 3-1, Dexter tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. But Lincoln answered with a pair in the sixth inning to finish off the scoring.

The Rails had eight hits and no errors; Dexter had five hits and one error.

Evan Krolewski was 2-for-3 including a double at the plate with an RBI. David Kreske had a hit and two RBI. Alex Mills had a double and scored twice and Joe Horne walked twice. Andy Durand had a hit and scored a run.

Ben Cabana went five innings on the mound allowing five hits and two earned runs with six strikeouts. Jacoby Haley and Mills also pitched an inning apiece.

Dexter will play a pair at Saline on Saturday.
