Boys Track & Field: Dexter runs fifth at Erie Mason Invitational

The Dexter track and field team competed on Saturday in the Mason Invitational at Mason High School. The boys’ team finished fifth with 57.5 points. Holt took first (125), South Lyon East second (80) and Lansing Waverly third (78) in the 13-team field.

Meet recap

The distance runners and pole vaulters carried the load with Juniors Nathan Larson, and Henry Sheldon taking the honors. Larson won the open 3200m running a personal best time of 9:40.36, and Sheldon took the top spot in the Pole Vault with a personal best vault of 15’1”.

Three more Dexter vaulters would go on to place; Oliver Bishop 3rd at 13’6”, Cole

Sheldon 4th at 12’6’, and Noah Schultz at 12’0”.

Junior runners William Butler was 2nd in the 800m (2:03.60), Owen Huard 2nd in the 1600m (4:26.65), and Seth Read place 4th with a mark of 4:41.59, his career best time.

Dexter took 5th place in the 4×800 with the team of Lucas Betzoldt, Ransom Duncan, Noah Hayter, and Rishabh Kothari, in a time of 9:14.71.
