Softball: Dexter pounds out 26 hits in sweep of Jackson

The Dexter softball team headed down I-94 for Jackson and even though it’s early in the season the Dreadnaughts did not forget to bring the lumber. The Dreads had 26 hits and 28 runs in the two game for an easy sweep in an SEC White Division doubleheader on Monday.

In the opener, Dexter scored 11 runs in the first four innings and added five more in the sixth in a 15-2 win. Dexter had 15 hits while Jackson committed five errors.

It was much of the same in the second game as the Dreadnaughts racked up five runs in the first inning, four in the second and three more in the third on their way to a 12-0 win. Dexter had 11 hits and just one error.

Paige Sayler got the win. She allowed just three hits while striking out six with no walks in four innings.
