Baker Road Construction Begins Today and Lasts For … How Long?

Starting today (Monday, May 7, 2018), a DTE gas line is being relocated on Baker Road between Shield Road and Dan Hoey Road in Dexter.

This gas line relocation project is being done ahead of the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) and City of Dexter Baker Road roundabout project starting later this summer.

During this gas line project there will be intermittent lane closures on Baker Road between Shield Road and Dan Hoey Road in Scio Township and the City of Dexter. WCRC encourages motorists, emergency services and others to use an alternate route.

The gas line replacement expected to take approximately 4 weeks, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions. Baker Road will be closed to all traffic for the roundabout project once Dexter Community Schools have closed for the summer.
