Golf: Dreads tee it up at competitive Tecumseh Invitational

Dexter and the three Ann Arbor golf teams teed it up on Friday at the Tecumseh Invitational at Hantz Golf Club. The 18-team field featured some quality programs from all over the area and every stroke certainly counted in this tournament.

Grosse Ile carded a team score of 321 to finish first. Just one stroke back was Pioneer with an impressive 322 followed by Saline (329), Clinton (330) and Onsted (339).

Dexter placed sixth overall with a team score of 344.

Skyline fired a team score of 345 to finish seventh. Huron shot a 367 to place tied for 13th place with Adrian.

Clinton’s Austin Fauser fired a 71 to take medalist honors. Grosse Ile’s Blake Petterle was second with a 76. The Pioneers had two players in the top five and three in the top 10 with Colin Flanders third (78), Kailas Whitelocke fourth (79) and Xavier Lee eighth (82).

Pioneer’s scorecard also included Davis Derosia (15th place, 83) and Lewie Fichera (19th place, 84).

The Dreadnaughts were led by Matt Keogh who fired an 83 to place 15th overall. Also on the Dexter scorecard were Kyle Knapp (86), Jack Folka (86), Jack Evans (89) and Joey Fracassi (90).

Skyline’s Jacob Brandt tied for eighth overall with an 82. Also scoring for the Eagles were Joe Trudeau (86), Lucas Tomilo (88), Clay Pieszchala (89) and Nick Rybicki (91).

The River Rats were led by Austin Aldrich who fired an 89. Also on the Huron scorecard were Jacks Harrison (91), Julius Stuhec (93), Peter Hagan (94) and Carl Innes (95).
