Both Dexter and Scio Township experienced quieter weeks of crime overall last week. Assaults, however, are still widespread throughout the areas.

A domestic assault ensued on Saturday, March 17, at 5:31 p.m., at the 7500 block of Walsh Rd. The 37-year-old female attacker left no injuries and was not arrested.

Additionally, five assaults were reported the week prior, from Thursday, March 8, to Sunday, March 11.

A business on Jackson Industrial Dr. was robbed on Wednesday, March 14, at midnight. The burglar(s) broke the front glass door to gain entry and then stole the cash register. As of publish, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s department had not named a suspect, but the case is still under investigation.

At 1:07 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, a 47-year-old from Ann Arbor was charged with a DUI at the intersection of Miller Rd. and N. Zeeb Rd. Authorities were dispatched to the area after a report came in about a car on the side of the road. The driver was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and a blood draw after failing the police administered field sobriety test.
