Dexter’s B2B In Need of Stewards With A Little TLC

Friends of the Border-To-Border Trail are looking for volunteers to “adopt” off-road segments of the B2B.

The job description is pretty light duty stuff: Pick up trash, even though the trail stays remarkably trash free by its eco-conscious users, report problems such as potholes, downed branches, signage issues, etc., and trimming back (with hand tools) vegetation during the growing months.

Volunteers are also asked to patrol their Trail section 2-4 times a month. Volunteer “terms” would be to the end of the 2018 calendar year (December 31st) when volunteers are asked if they would like to continue for another year.

The B2B Trail segments needing “adoption” are:

  • Dexter – Mill Creek Park to the north end of Hudson Mills Metropark
  • B2B Trail around St. Joseph Mercy Hospital & Washtenaw Community College
  • Ypsilanti Township – Harris Road/Loonfeather Park west to Grove Road I-94 bridge
  • Ypsilanti Township – Bridge Road to Grove Road then west to Harris Road/Loonfeather Park
