Swimming: Dreadnaughts swim past Chelsea in SEC dual meet

The Dexter swimming and diving team raced past rival Chelsea 141-43 in an SEC dual-meet last Thursday.

Dexter opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay as the foursome of Casey Dolen, Clayton Kinnard, Niklas Eberly and Alex Shehab finished in 1:44.93.

The Dreadnaughts went one-two in the 200 freestyle with Sam Krahn in first (1:53.66) and Paul Schaefer in second (1:59.96).

Dexter swept the 200 IM with Stephen Sterlitz in first (2:10.03), Tanner Sharp in second (2:15.47) and Tony Golin in third (2:15.65).

The Dreads also swept the 50 freestyle with Dolen in first (22.94), Kinnard in second (24.23) and Luke Sayler in third (24.60).

Dexter’s Yaw Oduro won the diving with 146.30 points with Evan Micelli in second with 145.20 points.

Kinnard took second in the butterfly in 58.87.

Shehab won the 100 freestyle in 52.79.

The brooms came out again in the 500 free as Krahn finished first (5:06.06), Sharp in second (5:21.86) and Nathan Norris in third (5:35.80).

The Dreads’ 200-free relay team of Shehab, Kinnard, Dolen and Krahn touched first in 1:35.45.

Niklas Eberly won the backstroke in 55.69.

Dolen won the breaststroke in 1:07.14.

The 400 free relay team of Sharp, Eberly, Schaefer and Stephen Sterlitz won in 3:33.79.
