Dexter Community Players Auditioning For New Youth Production

Something new is afoot in Dexter.

Dexter Community Players (DCP) presents its new Youth Theatre Productions. The focus of this late season addition is to give more opportunities to young people who just want to perform. Auditions for Youth Theatre Productions are open to all ages, 18 and under.

DCP’s first youth production will be Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, adapted by Tim Kelly, and directed by DCP board member Samantha Kempf who is a paraeducator with Dexter Schools.

Auditions are Nov. 27 & 28 @ 6:30 pm in Wylie Elementary.

Show Dates are Feb. 10 & 11 @ 3;00 pm in Copeland Auditorium.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a new take on the timeless tale where you will follow the rabbit into a delightful, entertaining world of childhood fantasies. Alice journeys to a world of talking animals, comic royalty, and races where the contestants run in circles. There is also the Mad Hatter’s frantic tea party, the watch-carrying White Rabbit, and talking flowers. Along the way, Alice must deal with a sneezing Duchess and a baby that turns into a pig. The finale has Alice watching a trial, but she suddenly finds herself the accused! The play gives a modern view to an old classic, where nonsense makes quite good sense.
