Dreads swim past Tecumseh, remain perfect in SEC White

The Dexter swimming and diving team knocked off Tecumseh 140-45 in an SEC dual-meet on Thursday night. The Dreadnaughts, the defending state champions, remain undefeated in league matches this season.

The Dreads jumped to lead from the opening splash as the foursome of Grace Kacmarek, Sarah Zofchak, Annette Schultz and Amelia Kinnard took first in the medley relay with a time of 1:55.73.

The team of Hannah Quist, Emma Sortor, Kamille Balcom and Jordan Maisch took second for Dexter in 1:59.02. And the team of Allison Wyka, Sam Durrant, Zoe Michos and Hailee Waters took third for Dexter in 1:59.24.

Dexter’s Addie Carr won the 200 free in 2:08.23.

Kinnard won the 200 IM (2:17.17) with Quist in second (2:21.68).

Annette Schultz won the 50 free in 24.61.

Dexter swept the diving with Nicole France taking first (204.35 points), Sarah Horowitz in second (198.05) and Popi Vorias in third (175.8).

The Dreads swept the butterfly with Kacmarek in first (1:00.94), Higgins in second (1:08.22) and Becca Clark third (1:15.77).

Charlotte Schultz won the 100 free in 54.45 while Hailee Waters won the 500 free in 5:37.10.

The foursome of Carr, Waters, Madeline Kaufman and Charlotte Schultz took first in the 200 free relay in 1:45.54.

The Dreads swept the backstroke with Annette Schultz taking first in 58.78 followed by Maisch (1:00.82) and Quist (1:03.34).

The Dreads also swept the breaststroke with Gretchen Heidebrink first (1:18.5), Carr second (1:21.77) and Elizabeth Merz third (1:23.08).

Dexter took first in the 400 free relay as the team of Balcom, Michos, Emma Sortor and Charlotte Schultz won in 4:01.45.
