Volleyball: Dexter hosts Chelsea on Tuesday in Dig Pink match

The Dreadnaughts are welcoming the Bulldogs to town and while there will be your typical rivalry swagger once the ball is served, the two teams, schools and communities are volleying up the annual Dig Pink match.

The fund-raiser helps raise money and awareness to fight cancer.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday with the JV and freshman game followed by the varsity at 7 p.m.

There will be a bake sale and other opportunities to help raise money for the Sideout Foundation.

The Dreadnaughts are having an outstanding season under the leadership of coach D’Ann Dunn. Dexter leads the SEC White Division with a perfect 11-0 record including a win earlier in the season over Chelsea.

The Dreads are an impressive 20-8 overall.
