Girls Track: Dreadnaughts place fourth at D-1 Regionals

The Dexter girls’ track and field team ran fourth in Saline on Friday during the Division 1 Regional. The Dreadnaughts finished with 52 points.

Ann Arbor Pioneer ran away with the championship scoring 174 points. Skyline took second with 89.5 points with Saline third (57). Huron was fifth with 47 points in the 15-team field.

The state finals are June 3 at East Kentwood HS.

The Dreads picked up 33 of their 52 points in one event: the pole vault. Dexter won the top five spots in the event the program has dominated for years.

Super sophomore Nicole Bow went 11-9 to finish first overall.

Junior Madison Wright was second (11-3), senior Lindsey Hayter was third (11-3), senior Alyssa Enciso was fourth (10-9) and senior Chloe Vorias was fifth (10-9).

In the 800 meters, sophomore Megyn Scafasci was fifth with a time of 2:24.62.

Senior Caroline Shoopman was third in the high jump at 5-0.

Sophmore Nicole Bow was seventh in the long jump at 16-5.
