Baseball: Pinckney edges Dreadnaughts 4-3

The Dexter baseball team lost a close contest with visiting Pinckney on Friday 4-3.

After the Dreadnaughts fell behind 1-0 in the second, Dexter scored two in the bottom of the frame to take a 2-1 lead.

But the Pirates answered the Dreads’ answer with two of their own in the top of the third.

Pinckney added a run in the fourth for a 4-2 lead.

Dexter scored one in the bottom of the seventh but couldn’t get the equalizer.

The Dreads had nine hits in the ball game compared to seven for the Pirates.

Tyler Valentine led the Dreads with three hits.

Mack Martin went four innings and took the loss.
