Baseball: Martin, Kreske help Dreads blank Skyline 6-0

The Dexter baseball team has opened the season in impressive fashion.

After knocking off Saline 2-0 on Wednesday, the Dreadnaughts came right back and blanked visiting Skyline 6-0 on Thursday.

Junior left-hander Mack Martin pitched a gem for the Dreads, surrendering only two hits over six shutout innings while striking out six.

Sophomore David Kreske came in and pitched a perfect seventh inning to close the door.

Offensively, senior Matt Sinelli collected two hits and broke open the scoring with an RBI single scoring junior Drake Doyle.

Kreske also collected his first varsity hit. Kyle Harris continued to play well defensively and threw out another runner helping to shut down a threat.

Dexter plays two against Negaunee at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
