Swimming: Dreads split with Pinckney, Huron

The Dexter swimming and diving team split last Saturday in a tri-meet at Pinckney. The Dreads defeated the host Pirates 140-45 while falling to Ann Arbor Huron 103-83.

The Dexter foursome of Alex Shehab, Casey Dolen, Sam Krahn and Alex Janosi took second in the medley relay in 1:41.27.

Will Blodgett was second in the 200 free (1:47.53) and Janosi touched second in the IM (1:57.29).

Kevin Kimmel was third (23.06) and Dolen fourth (23.22) in the 50 free.

Dexter’s Kevin Flaherty was second in diving with 167.05 points.

Stephen Sterlitz was third in the butterfly in 56.38 and Blodgett was fourth in the 100 free in 50.34.
The Dreads went one-two in the 500 free with Janosi finishing first in 4:52.93 and Mitchell Houghtaling second in 4:56.32.

The Dreads (Sterlitz, Blodgett, Kimmel and Andrew Golin) were second in the 200 free relay.

Alex Shehab brought home first-place points for the Dreads in the backstroke with a time of 53.73. Houghtaling was second in the breaststroke in 1:04.05 with teammate Krahn in third in 1:04.13.

Dexter (Blodgett, Sterlitz, Dolen and Janosi) was second in the 400 free relay in 3:19.61.
