JV Maroon Soccer Crushes Huron at Dexter

The JV Maroon Soccer team hit the ground running on Tuesday at their home game against Ann Arbor Huron.

According to newly hired DHS JV soccer coach Jamie Lewis, “[The team] played smart; forcing Huron to chase.” The game ended 5-1, Dexter. The team has worked hard this season and is focused on improvement by using each game as a learning opportunity. The fourteen man roster creates for tight planning and lots of game time for each player.

Playing Chelsea in Chelsea on Thursday proved to be a challengin match requiring mental toughness and follow-through. The team improved throughout the game, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Bulldogs. Though the game ended 0-3, Chelsea, it’s clear the JV Maroon team has talent and plenty of heart.

A week of on-field ups and downs ended with Dexter’s homecoming parade on Friday. The JV Maroon team joined two other full floats of DHS soccer players. With a total roster of 50 players, Dreadnaught soccer is bursting at the seams.

The JV Maroon team’s next game will be Monday, September 27th, in Auburn Hills. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. at Avondale High School, 2800 Waukegan St. Auburn Hills, MI.
