Baseball: Jaimez pitches Dreads to District opener win (photos)

The Dexter baseball team scored a run in the first inning and the strong pitching of Seth Jaimez and some solid defense was all else the Dreandaughts needed in a 3-0 win over Pinckney in a District opener Tuesday at Howell High School.

The Dreads advance to Saturday’s semifinal game. If they win, they will play in the District final at 1 p.m. All games are at Howell HS.

Jaimez was dominant from start to finish. The senior had eight strikeouts in seven innings and limited the Pirates to three hits.

The Dreads added two runs in the sixth, including one on a balk.

Dexter managed only four hits in the game, including two from senior Stewie Webber, who also drove in a run. Grant Katcher had an RBI for Dexter.
