Sheriff Blotter May 17-May 24

A 53 year old Dexter man was pulled over for driving erratically at the corner of Forest and Baker at 7:34 p.m. Thursday, May 19. After failing the field sobriety test, he was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail where deputies in the Washtenaw County Sherriff’s Office are seeking charges.

Deputies came to the 2200 block of Parker Road to end an assault at 12:35 p.m. Friday, May 20. This case involves juveniles, so a spokesperson at the Sheriff office would not make any further comment.

Sometime overnight on Saturday, May 21, a burglar entered the attached garage of a house in the 7300 block of North Lake Orchard Drive. The unknown suspect stole cash from a car inside and fled. Deputies have no suspects at this time.

Deputies took a 31 year old Dexter woman from the 100 block of Staebler Road to the Washtenaw County Jail for domestic violence, Sunday, May 22, at 8:02 p.m. Charges have been submitted for review against her with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor.

A woman asleep in her home in the 4900 block of Miller Road was woken up at 2:21 a.m., Monday, May 23 by a loud noise. She came into contact with a woman who had broken into the bedroom portion of her house, described by a Sheriff’s spokesperson as a “younger, white female with long brown hair.” The woman apparently yelled at the intruder, who fled on foot. Deputies came and nothing was taken. Evidence has been collected but no arrest has been made as of press time.

Sometime around 10:00 p.m. on May 23, a mail box in the 7500 block of Pinefield Drive was broken with a large rock. Deputies say they have no suspects.

An argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend in the 7900 block of Grand Street ended in a domestic violence assault at 1:17 a.m., Tuesday, May 24. The 21 year old Dexter man fled the scene. He has since been arrested and the sheriff is asking for charges to be brought against him by the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office.

Two Grass Lake Women came to the 7900 block of Grand Street 11:41 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, to confront the girlfriend of their relative, who had been involved in an altercation with her earlier in the day. According to the sheriff, the 28 year old and 55 year old Grass Lake Women entered the house without permission. At some point the girlfriend’s phone was broken and she fled the house to a neighboring business. She then used the phone at that business to call 911. Deputies arrived and arrested the two women accused of assaulting her and are seeking charges with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
