The Dexter girls’ tennis team lost its first game of the season to a strong Monroe team on a sunny day Wednesday at Dexter High School. The visiting Trojans swept the singles matches and netted a 5-3 win over the Dreads.
Dexter lost the first three singles matches in straight sets.
At four singles, Orancyn Wener defeated the Dreadnaughts’ Maggie Tucker 5-7, 7-5, (10-4) in a very close match.
In one doubles, Monroe’s Alyssa Domasica/Liza Halstead defeated Alexis Passamani/Andrea Hinz 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.
Dexter won the next three.
At two doubles, Anna Stricklan/Zoe Gaglis defeated Lexi Steve/Keegan Mielke 6-3, 6-1; at three doubles, Caitlynn McClendon/Jordyn Birchmeier defeated Teresa Pajgrtova/Lily Freese 6-1, 6-4; and at four doubles, Emily Herold/Lauren Flipiak defeated Carly Pabin/Natalie Litra 6-0, 6-1.
Dexter heads to the Crestwood (Zielinski) Invitational on Saturday.
