Baseball: Dreads’ offense explodes in sweep of Lincoln

The Dexter baseball team took a pair from Lincoln on Monday including a blowout in the opener. The Dreads scored three in the first, six in the second and added three more in the fourth and then scored a touchdown – complete with an extra point – in the fifth for a 19-2 win over the host Railsplitters.

Dexter had 18 hits on the game while limiting Lincoln to three hits.

Seth Jaimez carried the big stick with five hits Dexter. Stewie Weber collected four hits in the game and Cam Milne had two hits. Michael Brandshaw had three RBI and Milne and Chase Rojeck each had two RBI in the win.

Jaimez went five innings to get the win, racking up four strikeouts along the way.

In the nightcap, the Dreads offense kept raking with two runs in the first and four in the second as Dexter won 6-0. Brenden Ritter had three RBI and Joey Hiser and Weber each drove in a win.

Micah Beriage had seven strikeouts in his four innings of work to pick up the win.

Dexter plays Lincoln again on Wednesday at home. First pitch is at 4:30 p.m.
