The Dexter girls’ basketball team ran their win streak to 14 with an impressive 46-21 win over Saline on Friday night.
The Dreadnaughts improved to 14-1 on the season. They play at Bedford on Tuesday and then host Tecumseh on Thursday.
Dexter opened the first quarter with its typical lockdown defense, holding the Hornets to just four points. They led 13-4 after one quarter and 21-12 at the break.
The Dreadnaughts were the ones buzzing in the third quarter as they stretched their lead to 32-16 and cruised the rest of the way.
The Dreads were led by Shelbea James with 13 points. The senior forward, who also had three rebounds, was the only Dexter player in double figures as the Dreads spread the ball around on offense.
Senior guard Taylor Olson had a big game with nine points and eight rebounds. Senior forward Anna Love had six points and five boards while senior guard Cayla Schlaff had six points and three boards.
Senior forward Hannah Wing also had a nice game with four points and six rebounds.
Amanda Fileccia, Sammi Corcoran, Stella Kill and Kristen Young had two points apiece.
