The Dexter volleyball team is hitting the road on Wednesday looking for a little revenge that has been lingering for a year. The Dreadnaughts were eliminated last year in the District finals by visiting Ann Arbor Huron and can do the same to the Hurons this year in their gym.
Dexter faces Huron at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday in what should be an exciting match to open the 2016 District playoffs.
While Dexter is playing better and improved to 25-25 with an impressive showing over the weekend in Chelsea, the Dreads will face a big challenge in Huron.
“They have very strong middle blockers,” said Dexter coach D’Ann Dun. “We have our work cut out for us for sure.”
But the Dreads are coming in playing their best volleyball of the season.
“We saw an improvement in the chemistry of the team playing as a team,” Dunn said. “The girls on the court and the bench were engaged and cheering each other on the whole day. The team played consistently throughout the tournament. We hope the team continues the level of play this week.”
Pioneer and Pinckney played Monday in a quarterfinal. The winner of that match will meet Skyline on Wednesday following the Dexter-Huron match.
The finals are at 6 p.m. on Friday.
