Swimming: Dreads finish off dual-meet season with win over Chelsea

The Dexter swimming and diving team finished off another successful dual-meet season with a 12-1 overall record including 5-0 in the SEC White Division with a 145-41 win over Chelsea on Oct. 29.

The Dexter foursome of Annette Schultz, Kate Mesaros, Lizzy Merriman and Gretchen Schultz opened the meet with a first-place time of 1:48.12 in the medley relay.


The Dreads swept the 200 freestyle led by Sarah Zofchak who took first place in 1:59.59.

Merriman won the 200 IM in 2:10.96.

Dexter swept the 50 freestyle led by Schultz who took first in 25.41.

Kaylee Witte won the diving with a score of 188.10 points.

Mesaros won the butterfly in 1:01.63 and Amelia Kinnard led a sweep in the 100 freestyle with a first-place time of 55.96.


Annette Schultz swam to first in the 500 free with a time of 5:04.29.

The Dexter foursome of Mesaros, Merriman, Hannah Quist and Annette Schultz took first in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:41.84.

Sarah Lynch won the backstroke in 1:01.47 and Mesaros won the breaststroke in 1:06.08.

The foursome of Zofchak, Kinnard, Lynch and Gretchen Schultz won the 400 free in 3:47.30.
