The board unanimously approved the 2016 Township Holiday Schedule and amended the Township Personnel Policy adding to Section 3.J that when a Township approved holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on the preceding Friday, and when it falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on the following Monday.

That will affect the 2016 calendar year when Christmas Day 2016 and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2017, both fall on Sundays.

In other action, the board unanimously approved the proclamation recognizing the dedicated service of Office Manager DeNette Bolyard who is retiring at the end of October.

The proclamation stated, “DeNette Bolyard has played a critical role as recording secretary of the Board of Review and the Zoning Board of Appeals; and WHEREAS, DeNette Bolyard’s other contributions to Dexter Township are many and varied and are too numerous to mention.”

Bolyard spent 20 years working for Dexter Township. There will be a retirement luncheon for her at 1 p.m. on October 27.
