The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office dealt with several incidents over the past week in Dexter and the surrounding areas.
On September 21, sheriff’s deputies responded to an assault/battery call in the 7300 block of Dexter-Ann Arbor Road.
Washtenaw County Sheriff Sergeant Geoffrey Fox said, “That was an issue dealing with our school officer and one of the students.”
Because the case involves a minor, Fox could provide no further information.
In the 7100 block of Dexter-Ann Arbor Road, there was a theft at Lafontaine Chevy. The sheriff’s office says that someone used a jack to steal parts from a single pickup truck that was on the lot at the rear tires and rims.
“They discovered it on the 22nd. It could have quite possibly happened in the 3 days before that,” Sgt. Fox said.
There was a domestic assault on the 5300 block of Huron River Drive on September 23, which deputies characterize as a “family related offense.”
Sheriff’s deputies dealt with marijuana possession in a county park in Scio Township. There were three subjects there, who were found with an unspecified type and quantity of controlled substances.
Police also responded to the 4500 block of Inverness, on Septermber 26, for what crimemappers.com called “a telephone used for harassment/threats.” Fox said that was down to a disagreement between two acquaintances who had a falling out. Fox said they “communicated with both parties” and that “we don’t expect it to be an issue moving forward.”
Paper work was done for marijuana possession again on September 26 in the 2900 block of Baker Road.
“We had gotten called there for the report of an intoxicated person who was parked, but operating a motor vehicle,” Fox said. “So they were behind the wheel, ready to drive, [they] just hadn’t driven away yet.”
After the deputy arrived, they were found “intoxicated” and marijuana was found in the car of the 25-year-old male, who deputies identified as an Ann Arbor resident.
