Faith in Action’s Crop Hunger Walk will take place in Dexter this year

For the first time, the Chelsea/Dexter CROP Hunger Walk will take place in Dexter. Previously, for more than twenty years, the Walk was held in Chelsea. The current plan is for the Walk to alternate each year between the two cities.

The purpose of Crop Hunger Walks is to raise money for poor and hungry people around the world. Twenty-five percent of the money raised from this Walk will remain local and be given to Faith in Action, which helps people in need in both Chelsea and Dexter.

As usual, the Walk will take place on the first Sunday in October, on the fourth of the month this year. There will be one-mile and five-mile routes starting from St. Andrew UCC Church on Ann Arbor Road.

If you are interested in donating, you may do so online by going to, clicking on “Find a Walk” and then entering “Dexter”. If you would like to participate by walking to raise money, contact Faith in Action, phone 734-475-3305, for an envelope in which to collect donations.
