Tennis: Dreads battle Farmington to 4-4 draw (video, photos)

The Dexter tennis team invited Farmington High School to Dexter on Tuesday to help the Dreadnaughts prepare for the tough SEC schedule. The Dreadnaughts played well against some excellent competition in a 4-4 draw.

Dexter’s Kyle Kuhns fell 6-3, 6-2 to Navjit Girgla at No. 1 singles.

In a well-played and highly competitive match, Dexter’s Billy Chesbrough defeated Raghav Subramanian 6-4, 6-7(4), (10-5) at two singles. Dexter’s Drake Rider defeated Faris Ajluni 6-4, 6-2 at three singles and Dexter’s Ben Cohen defeated Chirag Adapa 6-4, 6-2 at four singles.

The Dreadnaughts only win in doubles came from the No. 1 doubles team of Brannon Wiegers and Matt Keogh who won 7-5, 4-6, (10-7). Dexter’s Steve Dootz/Dylan Myers lost 6-2, 6-4 at two doubles; Dexter’s Christian Vaughan/Tavan Zadeh lost 6-3, 6-2 at three doubles; and Dexter’s Blankenship/Higgins lost 6-2, 6-3 at four doubles.
