Motorists who live around or drive through the section of N. Territorial Road from Mast to Webster Church Road are advised to make alternate travel plans beginning on August 17, as road construction crews will begin major work on that particular stretch of roadway.
While construction is always inconvenient for those of us who spend a great deal of time commuting each day, those familiar with the condition of this portion of roadway in Webster Township have much cause to rejoice.
Earlier in the year township residents prepared to launch a petition to convince the road commission to commit resources and manpower towards fixing a patch of road beleaguered with lack of maintenance and an abundance of wear-and-tear for years.
“For years North Territorial has been a mess with potholes and bumps and coal patch,” said petition organizer and township resident Tracy Rose in the report linked above.
“And for the last three-to-five years we’ve expected it to be fixed because it was beyond patching at that point.”
Fortunately for Rose, who lost several tires and incurred many more auto repair costs along with many of her neighbors, the road commission unveiled plans to fix the section of N. Territorial that they had taken issue with in a decision unrelated to the petition, which hadn’t yet gotten off the ground.
