Dexter Community Band rehearses for Evening of Ensembles at Foggy Bottom

Each year, the Dexter Community Band breaks into smaller ensemble groups and performs around western Washtenaw.

While stopping into Foggy Bottom to get some work done, I happened onto this rehearsal event and did some video and audio recordings to share with visitors to We Love Dexter. These band members are a joy to listen to. Hopefully you enjoy hearing the below tunes as much as I did.

Stay tuned for more information on the ensemble evenings once I get my hands on the press release with all of the info. The performances are free to the public, although we encourage folks to donate to support this wonderful organization.

And without further adieu…

Radiant Brass performs “Just a Closer Walk” by Don Gillis.

Classical Winds performs “Finale” in allegro by Wolfgang A. Mozart.

Dexter Jazz Horns performs “Serenade” by Mitchell Parish and Glenn Miller.

It was a surprise to see what seemed like an entire orchestra packed into Foggy Bottom on a Saturday afternoon, but when you’re in Dexter anything’s possible.

Check out the scene in the below photo gallery.
