The We Love Dexter team is proud to announce the hiring of Christopher Nelson as a content creator for welovedexter.com.
Nelson is a past employee of The Oakland Press and has interned at FOX 2 News WJBK-TV. He is both an Eastern Michigan University and Specs Howard School of Media Arts graduate, with degrees in Electronic Media and Film Studies and Video and Film, respectively.
“We’re pleased to have Chris on the team given his background in visual storytelling and video production,” Content and Community Manager Sean Dalton said. “I’ve been in talks with Chris for awhile now about the development of the We Love Dexter site and team. It’s been a long road to get to this point, but we’re here and momentum from the community is building and propelling our efforts to bring We Love Dexter to full operation as a dedicated Dexter-centric online entertainment and news source.”
Nelson and Dalton both worked for the Oakland Press’ parent company and had interactions in the company’s Washtenaw County operations. Dalton worked for Heritage Newspapers for nearly eight years, most of which was spent working for newspapers in Washtenaw including The Chelsea Standard, The Dexter Leader and the A2 Journal before those papers were phased out in favor of Digital First Media’s Washtenaw Now regional publication.
“My impression of Chris early on in his career was that he is eager and enthusiastic, in addition to being in possession of a positive attitude,” Dalton added. “I hope that the people of Dexter who know me and appreciate me from my many years of covering the Dexter area will extend Chris the same good will and cooperation while he sets himself to the task of covering the Dexter community.
“I believe in his ability to serve this community well.”
Both Nelson and Dalton will work creating content for the site throughout each week.
