Dexter family opens up about military tradition going back to WW2

We Love Dexter staff sat down and talked with Dexter residents Bob Aiken and June Aiken Doletzky around Veteran’s Day to discuss the family’s longstanding tradition of military service.

Bob and June have four brothers, all of whom served in various branches of the U.S. Military. Bob himself served in the navy and was the youngest of the five brothers who went off to war to defend the free world from tyrants.

The siblings discuss a number of topics, including the difficulty that some veterans have discussing what they went through.

World War 2 veterans in particular are group of Americans that is shrinking, so it’s important to talk to them and get them to share as much of their experiences as possible before those accounts are lost forever.
