Tennis: Dreads serve up 3-0 start after road win

The Dexter girls’ tennis team headed out to Oakland County on Monday afternoon and returned with an impressive 5-3 victory over Farmington High School.

The Dreadnaughts improved to a perfect 3-0 on the young season with a home match on Wednesday starting at 4 p.m.

Dexter won three of the four singles events against Farmington.

Erin Evans defeated Hanah Pierce 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 at one singles; Michelle Hoang defeated Samantha Miller 6-3, 6-2 at two singles and Maggie Tucker defeated Kalyani Ramamurthy 6-3, 6-0 at four singles.

Dexter’s Rylee Kim fell in a close match at three singles to Isha Nadgauda 4-6, 6-2, 6-3

After falling in the first two doubles matches, the higher doubles teams picked up the Dreads win victories. The team of Caitlynn McClendon/Jordyn Birchmeier defeated Meghana Nyalakonda/Anupama Dantaluri 6-4, 6-2 at three doubles.

At four doubles, Emily Herold/Lauren Flipiak defeated Margaret Kohler/Erin McDermott 6-4, 7-5.
