The Suburban Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership at the 3900 block of Jackson Rd. was targeted for theft last Tuesday, Aug. 22. Overnight, the perpetrator stole the rims and tires off of five brand new vehicles located in close proximity to each other in the dealership lot. The automobiles incurred no other damage. At the time of publish, no suspect had been identified, but the case is still under investigation.

A property owner at the 4000 block of Jackson Rd. called the police after lawn care equipment was taken from his detached garage. At the time of the robbery, the victim was not home and is therefore unsure of what time the crime occurred

The garage is in good condition, leading authorities to believe the door was left opened or unlocked. At this time, no suspect has been named.

An Scio vehicle-owner’s disorganized glove box was the final object to entice the morally bankrupt last week. The suspect rummaged through the the glove box and center console of an unlocked vehicle parked at an apartment complex at the 4300 block of Eyrie Dr. overnight on Wednesday, Aug. 23, but but found nothing of value to take.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department also responded to two domestic assault incidents last week.

A 42-year-old man from Howell caused a domestic disturbance at the 400 block of Cherry Ln. on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 3:30 a.m. There were no injuries and no arrest, only damage to the victim’s cell phone.

A Dexter business at the 4200 block of Mast Rd. was the scene of the second incident. A 26-year-old man from Dexter, one of two employees arguing over an unknown cause, punched his co-worker in the face. The pair then wrestled each other to the ground and continued to throw punches until the police arrived. Only minor injuries were sustained and an arrest has yet to be made. The Washtenaw County Prosecutor is reviewing the case and will determine the charges.

Arrests were made in two separate DUI incidents in Dexter. Both occurred on Sunday, Aug. 27, and luckily, no accidents or injuries resulted from the intoxicated driving.

The first occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ann Arbor Street and Dover Street and involved a 26-year-old woman from Pinckney who the cops pulled over after they noticed her erratic driving. The officer smelled alcohol on her breath as he questioned her and she was taken to the Washtenaw County Jail after she failed the sobriety test.

In the second incident, a 48-year-old woman from Pinckney was allegedly driving while intoxicated around 5:15 a.m. near Dexter Pinckney Road and Huron Creek Drive. Deputies made their second trip of the night to the Washtenaw County Jail after a field sobriety test confirmed a state of intoxication.

In Dexter, several containers of gas were stolen during the day on Thursday, Aug. 24, from a home at the 8900 block of Island Lake Dr. While the homeowner was out, the perpetrator raided the open garage. As of publish, officials had yet to name a suspect.

A breaking and entering offense at the 7400 block of Gregory Rd. left a homeowner puzzled as he watched a strange man walk out of his front door; however he noticed that nothing was taken by the intruder. This home invasion occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22. The property sustained no damaged and it is unknown how the prowler entered the home. Deputies checked the local area but could not locate a suspect.
