The Relay for Life of Dexter Event Leadership Team (ELT) is excited to share two upcoming events with you.
First is Show of Hope Day on Wednesday May 20th. We hope that the entire City of Dexter will join us by wearing PURPLE to show support for all those who have fought cancer, are fighting cancer, or have lost their battle to cancer. 2015 Hope Shirts are available at Country Market, Dexter Pharmacy, Dexter Bakery (saturday mornings) or by contacting Angie Scott (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The ELT, along with other RFL participants, is planning to “Paint the Town Purple” for the entire week–we will be painting downtown store windows and covering the downtown area in purple ribbons and bows. If you’d like to help, we’re meeting at 3pm this Sunday, May 17th, at the Gazebo.
Second, we are planning a Survivor Float for Dexter’s Memorial Day Parade and we would LOVE to have as many Survivors as possible join us! The parade is on Monday, May 25th, at 10am. We will meet near Wylie Elementary School at about 9:30am (more details to come later). Caregivers/Family are welcome to join! Please go to the link here to RSVP, so we know how many people to expect. We will have a truck and trailer for those who need to sit, but you can also walk alongside.
Relay For Life of Dexter is Saturday June 13th in Monument Park in downtown Dexter and there’s still time to join in the fun! You can join a team, sign up a new team, participate as a survivor or just come and enjoy the day. See our website for more details. www.relayforlife.org/dextermi.
