Public Meeting For Development Of Broad Street Set For Dec. 6

The City of Dexter has announced “Community Engagement Workshop 2.0” on Dec. 6, from 6-8 PM, for the development of the property at 3045 Broad Street. The Workshop will take place in the Cafeteria at Creekside Intermediate School (2615 Baker Road).

This is the first in a series of collaborative design events between the City of Dexter and Norfolk Homes regarding the redevelopment of 3045 Broad Street (a/k/a the Old DAPCO, Cornerstone Gym, Old Dancer’s Edge site). The Norfolk Team has designed this workshop as a listening session and it will be organized and structured for maximum effectiveness.

The Norfolk Team envisions setting up the meeting space into four (4) sections or stations, with each station having a specific issue or topic of discussion, such as, but not limited to:

  • Parking/traffic
  • Relationship to Mill Creek Park/Downtown
  • Density
  • DTE sub-station/Environmental

The goal is to get input from the community without arriving at a conclusion of what specifically should be developed there.
